The mission of Newark Legacy Charter School is to develop the scholarship, discipline, and character necessary for our K-8 students to gain entry to, succeed in, and graduate from demanding, college preparatory high schools. Founded in 2009, Newark Legacy Charter School refuses to accept the notion that the fate of our nation's youth will be inevitable due to family income, zip code or any other characteristic over which they have no control. We believe that all our students' personal histories are valuable, and can be used as a springboard to success.

Success Preparatory Academy (SPA) is a K-8 charter school founded in New Orleans in 2009 whose mission is to develop college bound students for leadership and lifelong learning. Four years after taking over one of the lowest performing schools in the city, SPA now ranks 9th out of 37 elementary/middle schools in the Recovery School District and showed the 2nd highest growth from 2012-2013. As a result of their growth and achievement, SPA earned a 5-year charter renewal to continue their mission.

Marion P. Thomas, established in 1999, is Newark's only Pre-K through 12th grade charter school serving 1300 students across four campuses in the 2014-2015 school year. With the guiding philosophy "it takes a whole village to raise a child" MPTCS's mission is to create a 21st century village responsive to the needs of children, parents and the Newark community at large. Through innovative initiatives like single gender classrooms, opportunities to interact with community leaders and performing arts programming, MPTCS is dedicated to providing a high quality academic institution for Newark's families.
